Meet Our Wildlife Professionals

Dr. Jonathan Gassett founded Southern Wildlife Resources in 2007 and has spent more than 25 years as a wildlife biologist, land manager, and senior governmental policy maker. Dr. Gassett formerly served as Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, where earlier roles included Wildlife Division Director and Big Game Coordinator, and has served as President of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and of its Southeastern and Midwest associations. Dr. Gassett also serves as Southeastern Field Representative for the Wildlife Management Institute.

Dr. Kristie R. Blevins is co-owner of Southern Wildlife Resources and a Professor in the School of Justice Studies at Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Blevins researches wildlife crime and crime prevention and, as a highly trained quantitative analyst, teaches data analysis, research methodology, and statistics. Dr. Blevins co-authored the Boone and Crockett Club Poach and Pay final report on the illegal take of big game with Dr. Gassett.

Robin Gassett is a Wildlife Control Operator and a licensed pesticide applicator with Southern Wildlife Resources. Robin has more than 40 years of experience as a land manager specializing in quality deer management, and manages more than 600 acres in northeastern Kentucky that produce trophy white-tailed deer and turkeys.

Chris Griffith is a Wildlife Control Operator with Southern Wildlife Resources. Chris brings a lifetime of hunting, fishing, trapping, and shooting to the work, and is a passionate youth mentor in hunting, fishing, and the shooting sports.

Tanya L. Clark is a Wildlife Control Operator with Southern Wildlife Resources, based in Lawrenceburg. Before joining SWR, she served 20 years with the Kentucky State Police, retiring at the rank of lieutenant, and later served with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky Court of Justice. That career built the careful observation, methodical problem solving, and calm professional presence that wildlife control demands on what is often a homeowner's worst day. She holds a Kentucky Commercial Wildlife Control Operator permit. A 23-year resident of Anderson County, Tanya enjoys the outdoors, wildlife conservancy, camping, and hiking, and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2025.

Scarlet is our rescue Staffordshire Terrier that we have trained to detect and remove small mammals such as moles, voles, chipmunks, etc. that are near or around residences. Her favorite past-times are chasing squirrels, destroying her toys, and riding with Jon to and from jobs. She also enjoys watching and barking at wildlife from her deck as they walk thru or fly over her yard.
